Game plan for this flight was to head off before it got too windy. Winds were forecast to pick up in the afternoon, and we were expecting to get a top of lift at just above 5,000 feet by around 1:00 based on the forecasts. Game plan, once we have 5,000, we head.
At 12:30, had 5,000 over the launch, so pushed out this time to make it to the Tit, out the front of it.
Found it fascinating that I had picked pretty much the same conservative altitude to leave at, at the same time, and his glide was so much better than mine. Mine was at around 6:1, as I'm playing with bar to try and find the optimal glide. Getting there, it's amazing how much higher he was.
Once I got to the tit, there was nothing, so was hoping for something on the way to the LZ, but, not enough to make work, so flight was a great deal shorter.
Thorin on the other hand, had so much altitude on reaching the Tit that he went exploring for lift. We feel he could have head back to launch After exploring had he wanted to!
